Trusted Positioning with Two-Way Ranging
Flight (ToF) based indoor positioning systems is introduced. The new concept can be applied to all ToF based positioning system which use two-way ranging (TWR). We show that TWR exposes an inherent vulnerability which allows attackers to spoof arbitrary positions. It is described how such a spoofing attack works and how this can be detected. Finally we outline how to estimate the spoofing error.
