This seminar focuses on algebraic concepts in cryptology. Some topics will cover cryptography, others cryptoanalysis and its application in practice. A strong mathematical backround is expected.

Every student has to prepare one topic and give a 45-50 min scientific presentation. Furthermore, a scientific report has to be written in LaTeX and it is expected to actively engage in discussions about other presentations.

Topic Student

Differential and linear cryptoanalysis

Side channel attacks

Knapsack problem

Elliptic Curves: mathematical backround, encryption schemes, application, attacks

Factorization: algorithms, practice, RSA

Shors Quantenalgorithm

Provable Security

Discrete Logarithm: ElGamal, algorithms, pracitce

Bycicle Attack: AES
